The L.s and I went to Longwood Gardens in the late afternoon. We saw lots of dahlias, and colorful flower beds, and went down the Flower Garden Walk. We saw the last non-illuminated fountain show at 7:00 p.m., then walked around and saw the luminaries along the big lake and through the Italian Water Garden. At one point when we went down flights of stairs that had large platforms between flights, the luminaries were out on one side of the stairs, and I missed that the stairs had started again. I scraped the back of my ankle and hurt the opposite hip, and grabbed on to Mrs. L.'s shoulder so I wouldn't fall all the way down that set of stairs. I got hold of the railing with the other hand, and didn't grab Mrs. L. that hard. She said she was sturdy, anyway. I had brought a flashlight with me, but it would light up for a moment and then go out, so it wasn't actually useful.
We went back and watched the illuminated fountain show, which was themed "British Invasion," and had very spiffy light combinations and special effects to go with each song. It took us half an hour to get out of the parking lot afterwards, which didn't surprise me.
