Tuesday so far

I reread more of BA Tortuga's Real World.  I'm keeping the kids' ages straight better this time than the first time I read it.  I went to bed around 12:45 a.m., but of course I didn't go to sleep.  I got hungry in about half an hour and got up and had a bowl of cereal.  I went back to bed, and probably drifted off around 2:00 a.m.  I got up with my alarm at 10:00 a.m., which isn't bad.  I don't feel groggy.

Yesterday I arranged to go swimming with A.J. today.

A few hours later: A.J.'s sister B. called to say that A.J. had a cold.  Her brother-in-law C. has bronchitis.  A.J. didn't want to give me her cold.  I said maybe we could get together on Friday if A.J. was feeling better.

I went to the library.  I sat in a comfortable chair there and went through the hummingbird book again, looking at all the colorful pictures.  I returned the book to the circulation desk, saying that it was an interlibrary loan book and I didn't want to just drop it in the bookdrop.

I went to the Y.  I got there around 1:30 p.m. and found out that the outdoor pool didn't open until 4:00 p.m.  It's 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. this week during the week.  I went on the treadmill for a little bit, and read a little more of Real World.  I had my bathing suit on under my clothes and got hot.  I asked at the front desk about Friday Night Friends.  YMCA-S. came down and talked to me.  We talked about activities the Friday Night Friends had liked.

I watered my poor dried out plants.  The mint and the patchouli in pots show their thirst the worst.  The bee balm in pots wilts, too.  The bee balm planted directly into the ground seems to get enough water from the clay soil.  The first flower on the Easter lily has gone by, but there's another flower open and a bud.  The pineapple sage will probably start blooming in late October, just in time to freeze.  Then again, it's supposed to be a dry hot autumn, too.

I chatted with Riah for a little while.  That was nice.

I need to plan what plants to bring inside for the winter.  I have a lot of tender perennials.

Later: I talked for about an hour with J. and K.  I recommended "Deaf Clint Barton" and "amputee Bucky Barnes" fics to J.-PA.  The "amputee Bucky Barnes" ones are mostly no powers, modern-day AUs.  Only it is sort of movie canon now.  "Deaf Clint Barton" is comic book canon.
