Mom and Dad stayed in a motel, while I crashed at the T.-P. house, so that's why I was calling Mom. Uncle P. told Dad that there was a little train museum in the town where they were staying. Dad went to that while Mom hung out in the motel lobby. The next time I called, they were getting lunch. They should be here soon.
J. T.-P. and girlfriend arrived at around 1:00 a.m., but they didn't come upstairs where I was. I saw J. T.-P. in the morning. I called J. at 11:00 a.m. He was on the road, but still in Maryland. J. said he'd just passed Havre de Grace. He said he had about 200 miles to go to get to this part of New York. He thought he'd get here around 2:00 p.m. Aunt P.T. and J.T. were supposed to get here around 1:00 p.m. So we'll have the cookout mid-afternoon, I guess.
Later: We had a nice party. J. got there around 3:00 p.m. Uncle P. started grilling hot dogs and hamburgers around 4:30 p.m. After dinner, Uncle P. and Aunt P.T. opened presents. Uncle P. got a lot of books about birds. I gave Aunt P.T. tea.
Much later: We were coming from the Catskills in NY. Dad took the express part of the Garden State Parkway to near shore points, and then went across on 195 to the New Jersey Turnpike. That added an hour onto our trip. We got home at midnight.
