One of the woodpeckers was on an empty suet holder looking for crumbs of suet, so I went out and put the red pepper suet in the holder. The red pepper discourages the squirrels, but doesn't hurt the birds. We have larger and smaller woodpeckers that otherwise look very similar. I can't remember if it's the hairy or downy ones that are bigger or smaller, but we definitely have both kinds. Occasionally we'll have a red-bellied woodpecker. The catbirds are very fond of the suet, too. The woodpecker came back about a minute after I went back inside.
I read several Hollis Shiloh novellas in the "Shifters and Partners" series. I think I've read all the ones out as of July 2016.
We saw a hummingbird at the big cardinal flower that Dad planted close to the family room window. She came up near the window, and hovered there for a bit, too. The cardinal flower is in full bloom. The tiger lilies are blooming. I should get a picture of them.
Later: Mom and Dad and I went to B.J.'s Wholesale Club and then to the upscale grocery in [semi-local town]. I got dinner there at their cafe.
I reread Foxed.
