I got a number of free books.
Mom is on the search committee for her replacement as an acquisitions librarian. She was at the university where she worked this morning, and then came home and wanted to go swimming. After lunch, we went to a semi-local state park that has a public pool. Dad stayed in the park area to read while Mom and I went to the pool area. He had forgotten his water, so I gave him my water bottle. Then I went to the concession stand to get a bottle of water. A large shifting mass of people in front of me coalesced into sort of a line of about twenty people, most of whom were little kids. There ended up being like fifty people behind me, also mostly kids. They were cutting into the line in front of me, since the people in front of me were their friends and/or relatives. Also a lot of the people in the line were yelling to each other and generally yelling. I just wanted a damn bottle of water.
Once I got my water, I put it in the drink holder in my chair and got in the pool, which felt a little warm to me. Of course, I was very overheated at that point. When I got out, I reread some of Bloodlines. I went in again, and the pool felt more refreshing. I wasn't so overheated by then.
We stopped at a grocery store on the way back, and I got sushi for my dinner.
I will probably just read tonight.
Later: I watched CNN for a few hours.
