I made fruit salad and remembered to bring most of the other things I wanted to bring to garden club, including the daffodils that P.M. wanted me to bring. It was nice to see everyone. J.D. was back. It was good to see her. S.M. and P.M. wished me a happy birthday. They had sent me birthday cards. S.M. gave me a present of mandarin orange-scented soap. That's the second time she's given me soap. When we hug, she tells me that I smell good, which I think is a little weird, but apparently her presents of soap are not a hint that I need to wash more.
E.M. wanted me to play a National Geographic video on my laptop at garden club, but the tech guy we asked figured out that you couldn't have an Internet video projected on the screen. You can do PowerPoint or a DVD, but not something from the Internet. The lady who did the presentation on daffodils used PowerPoint slides. She didn't say anything I didn't already know, but the pictures of the various types of daffodils were pretty. Also she said that the minature ones I had brought in were probably 'Tete-a-Tete'. I knew which of the larger ones were 'Ice Follies' and 'White Lion'. I'm not too sure about the other ones.
We discussed going out to lunch and having an installation of officers of the garden club. Actually, it's a re-installation, as the president wants all the current officers to serve another two years. I do not want to be the secretary for another two years.
P. texted and called to wish me a happy birthday. I told her to tell her brother C. and her mom happy birthday, as theirs are on the weekend. J. called and wished me a happy birthday. He said he and K. were sick, so they wouldn't be up this weekend. I told him that, no, I didn't want a sinus infection as a birthday present.
WhiteSheepCBD wished me a happy birthday.
Mom was sick, but with stomach issues. I don't want that, either. She'd wanted Dad to drive her to the grocery store while I was at garden club, but he didn't. I drove her to the store and she got a few things and my cake. So much for surprises. We were talking about going to a steakhouse for my birthday dinner, but Mom felt too sick. I finished up the leftover Chinese food as early dinner while I waited to see what was for official dinner. We ended up having breakfast sandwiches from Wawa. They serve them all day now. Maybe we'll have official birthday dinner over the weekend.
I got Black Dust by Lynn Charles in the mail. That was my birthday present to myself.
J.-PA and I texted some about getting e-books and fics in Kindle-readable formats. I e-mailed her a list of sources for free books, and attached some fics in .mobi format. I read a Daredevil fic, "Fine, but not fine" that I started following a couple of days ago. There was a new chapter today.
Later: I looked on DaffSeek. I knew that the miniature daffodils Dad and I had planted many years ago and that were up now were either 'Tete-a-Tete' or 'Baby Moon', because we had planted both. 'Baby Moon' looks very different, with a cup instead of a trumpet, and more rounded and separated petals than 'Tete-a-Tete'. So now I know for sure that the ones we currently have are 'Tete-a-Tete'. I ordered some jonquils from Old House Gardens the other day, so we'll have jonquil flowers next year if we plant the bulbs in time this fall.
Later still: I rewatched the first episode of "Agent Carter."
