I went through the last couple of days of free Nook books. The Horse Mistress was listed as free yesterday, and was still free today. I got that, and got it as a Kindle book as well. I think I'd only had the ARC. I got some other free Nook books, too. [I later found out it was free on Smashwords, and got it there, too.]
I texted with WhiteSheepCBD. I had arranged to speak with A. tonight, but "Downton Abbey" is on at the usual time we talk. Perhaps we can talk earlier. [Later: A. and I will talk after "Downton Abbey.]
Later: Mom and I went to the grocery store in between rainstorms. It was relatively warm again, but windy.
I chatted with Riah a little, and texted with J.-PA a little.
Later: A. and I talked after "Downton Abbey." "Sherlock" was on, and I tried to tape it, but I messed up turning off the set top box when I was trying to turn off the TV part, so I'll have little gaps. But it was nice catching up with A. He was talking about the flowery language used in ads and reviews of hi-fi equipment. I was looking at the Logee's catalogue and read some flowery language about actual flowers off to him. He read the language of a review of an amplifier. There were a lot of Star Wars references. "They know their audience," I said. I tried to describe the smell of a sambac jasmine to A. "It's like a musky, heavy perfume," I finally said. "And I have it on the windowsill by my bed." The 'Maid of Orleans' jasmine will be blooming again any day. The buds are showing color.
