Last night I was rereading that fic with the chemical formula title -- I'll write it out: C8H10N4O2. It means "caffeine." I read through chapter 13, but was too tired to read 14 again. I had read chapter 14 earlier in the day, and commented on it. The fic is exploring different attitudes towards disability using Steve, who in this "modern setting -- no powers" AU never got a serum, but is big and built, and a Bucky who is electively mute and sustained an injury to his arm, but still has it and has use of it. That Steve seems to have the attitude of trying to "overcome" his disabilities, while that Bucky uses adaptive devices, signing and texting as ways to communicate. They have their share of issues individually and as a couple, but they're working on them.
Later: I got the free ARe book. It was a m/m one, so I posted about it on the Goodreads Backlot Gay Book Forum. It's BDSM, and some of the folks on the forum who read the most romance, or at least post about it, don't read that.
Mom and I went to a grocery store. We got what we wanted, so that was a productive trip. It was busy there.
I talked with J. for a while, and arranged to talk with A. this evening.
I read a couple of stories of Julia Talbot's published by ARe, and one by Julia Talbot and B.A. Tortuga published by ARe. I noted that I'd read them on Goodreads, and noted more of Julia Talbot's that I'd read. I was reading their Torquere stuff back in 2007. B.A. is having her Roughstock books republished by Pride Publishing. They've both diversified. I noticed a few typos in the ARe books, but enjoyed the content.
Later still: I read a novella by B.A. Tortuga, another published by ARe. Guess I stocked up on those at some point.
I talked with A. for about half an hour. I told him I'd sent him a card that I wrote a "happy days off" message in, since he's an atheist.
The new chapter of "War, Children" will be posted in a few hours. That's something to look forward to. Pre-serum as in no serum Steve is a trans man. Bucky has a lot of mental problems. It's an interesting fic.
