Thursday so far -- garden club

I got a Riptide book, The Burnt Toast B&B, and stayed up until 1:30 a.m. or so reading it.  One of the protagonists is a trans man.  I think I'm about halfway through so far.  It's very good.  Another book has a non-binary protagonist.  I am not surprised that Riptide would have books with trans and non-binary characters.  I think it's a good thing.  Now some of the people who attacked Jessewave when she limited her definition of men to men with penises have some books to read that reflect their experiences.  I don't know if that attack was random or planned.  It was when Jessewave was a guest on another blogger's blog.

I don't think it took me long to get to sleep.  S.M. called at 9:00 a.m. or so, but I wasn't that awake then.  I got up around 9:50 a.m. and made it to garden club at roughly 11:00 a.m.  It wasn't a bad meeting.  I took pictures of the floral arrangements and horticultural exhibits.  We took a break between the regular business meeting and the annual meeting.  The garden club president, J.G., sold tomato and pepper seedlings out of the trunk of her car.  We decided not to do an annual report meeting after all, since we give reports every month anyway.

I came home and put the tomato plants I got on the front porch for the time being.  Mom and I went to the dollar store and the grocery store.  I'd gotten a Mother's Day card the other day.  Today I got birthday cards for J. and P., and an anniversary card for J. and K.  I left the card for P. off at the grocery store.  Mom said J. was talking about coming up for Mother's Day.

A.J. called while Mom and I were in the dollar store.  I called her back when Mom and I got home.

I filled the birdbaths and put seed out for the birds.  I noted to myself yet again that I shouldn't have put the sweet shrub so near the lilacs.

I chatted with Riah for a while.  I did laundry.

Later: I chatted with J.-PA a little.  I wrote in a one-sided chat to Te.  She'll see it sooner or later.  I sent her an e-mail with the Wolf Moon fics attached.
