I ended up turning the computer off at 11:30 p.m. I lay down at 12:30 a.m. It took me a while to get to sleep, but probably less than two hours. S.M. called at 9:00 a.m., but I was too groggy to answer. The alarm went off at 10:00 a.m., and I got up then.
I got to garden club pretty much on time. I took the minutes. At lunchtime, S.M. gave me a birthday card, a pair of purple glass(?) earrings, and a box of paper roses. The roses had probably been sprayed with rose oil, because they had a rose scent. The program was about ferns. It made me want to get more. I have lady ferns and Japanese painted ferns, but during the ice storm a couple of years ago, tree branches bent severely over that garden. The ferns are still there, but you can't get to them. The speaker gave away a couple of pots of tommy crocuses. I got a little pot of them that I need to plant.
When I got home, I looked at the fern stumps, or whatever they're called -- what the fiddleheads come out of. There were several stumps, but they didn't seem to be doing anything yet. I took pictures of the snowdrops in the front yard and back yard. A yellow snow crocus was just coming up in the crocus garden. I took a picture of that. It turned out to be a nice day.
When I went inside, I wrote to Callie and Riah about the writing about asexuality posts. I tried to figure out how to get in contact with FicDirectory, and ended up just sending her an ask. I reblogged a post in which the writer said she was writing a novella-length Glee fic that had four of the characters being on the asexuality spectrum. I'd be curious to read that. I wouldn't agree with that interpretation, but it would be interesting to read something where the characters had those perspectives. http://neyronrose.tumblr.com/post/115325596529/writing-ace-spectrum-characters-in-fanfic-and
(Edited to add: I can actually see how someone could reinterpret things like that. I am fascinated.)
A.J. called, and we talked for a little while.
I got an editing job, and worked on that. It's one about dragons, related to the previous series about dragons, which was related to a series on shapeshifters. It was cute, and easy reading in a good way.
Somewhat later: Apparently it's Autism Awareness Day. I knew that April was Autism Awareness month, because Weeds hates April. Since I don't search in the autism tags and I'm not a disability activist, I'll just reblog stuff that sounds reasonable to me.
In better news, Te posted her latest Musketeers fic. A lot of it is dialogue, but so was a lot of The Three Musketeers. The Instagram picture she linked to on AO3 didn't come up for me, but I'm sure it was good.
Later still: I e-mailed with various people, and chatted a little with Codeman.
