Monday so far

I turned off the computer before 11:00 p.m.  If I remember right, I went to bed before 1:00 a.m.  I woke briefly at 7:20, but quickly went back to bed.  It took me a while to get back to sleep.  I woke up naturally at around 9:30 a.m., and decided to stay up.

I sat under my sunlight-effect lamp.  Vo had updated her A/B/O Winter Soldier fic.  Sometimes she writes a chapter a day.  I read the latest chapter.

I watered some of the plants.  The yellow jasmine ('Revolutum') still has a couple of flowers on it.  The Jasminium nitidum has been blooming.  That has a strong scent, maybe a little strong for inside, but I like the fragrance.

I need to go to the grocery store.  Mom wants me to go to work with her.  She's working the 2-10 shift.  We'll see.

Later: Mom went to the grocery store while I was sitting under the light.  I went to work with her.  The weather was miserable, first snow and then rain.  Dad said that it was snowing again when I talked to him.

I'm having near misses of chatting with people, kind of a "hi" in passing.

I have a lot of thoughts about "The Musketeers."  I saw in September 2014 an article naming Tariq and Samara as characters who would be in the second season.  The article was saying there would be more black characters in the second season.  In the first season, Charon was killed off in one episode.  Thus far in the second season, Pepin and Tariq have been killed off in one episode each, but survived by their female relatives.  In the books, Porthos survives until thirty years after the events of The Three Musketeers and the actor is signed through the second season, so presumably Porthos will survive the series.

I am worried about Constance.  In the book, she was completely unsuspecting about Milady being evil.  Milady poisoned her just for the hell of it, was how I interpreted that scene.  On the show, Constance is now Queen Anne's servant, as she was in the book.  Milady has already tried to kill her on the show, so Constance knows to be wary.  It will gall Athos to see Milady installed as King Louis' mistress.  Athos also survives for another thirty years.  D'Artagnan survives for thirty years, too.  Queen Anne is still alive in Twenty Years Later, though Louis XIII and the Cardinal de Richelieu had died.  The Cardinal de Richelieu died early on the show, as the actor went off to be the Doctor on Doctor Who.  Queen Anne was acting as Regent to the Dauphin, who would be Louis XIV, and Cardinal Jules Mazarin was an advisor to the throne.  Cardinal Jules Mazarin was a real life historical figure.  Queen Anne should survive the series.

Later still: I looked at the library's collection of books by Alexandre Dumas pere.  It's a pretty good collection, which is not surprising for an HBCU (Historically Black College or University).  Some of the books are quite old, but I don't think any are the first printing.

Mom and I got home okay.  The roads were pretty dry by then, but there were wind gusts up to thirty miles an hour.  I told cherryfeather I was recommending "Unus Pro Omnes, Omnibus Pro Uno."  There was a happy Christmas chapter, but I'm expecting some angst coming up relating to Athos' history of substance abuse.  A lot of the Musketeers fics I've read have used Athos' alcoholism.  Some of the modern ones add other drugs.  This one has complex relationships, but you could see the characters acting like that in those situations, if they had those sexual orientations and backstories.
