Mom and Dad had a couple of things going on. Mom wanted to attend the annual meeting at church, and Dad had a veterans' thing, the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. There was a brunch along with the annual meeting, and lunch with the veterans' thing. I drove to the church, left my car there for Mom, and went with Dad. The food wasn't great, but it was interesting to see Dad in his native environment. He's in several veterans' groups.
Mom and I went to Wal-Mart later in the afternoon. There was a free kitchenware offer that went with a half-hour spiel. It turned out to be a spiral peeler. I wouldn't have gone over if I'd known it would be a half-hour spiel. Fortunately I had my e-reader with me.
Rainjoy did a nice long update of the Affinity!Verse. I texted WhiteSheepCBD to let her know. I read it after Mom and I got back from Wal-Mart. It was 49 pages. The whole thing is well over 900 pages, and still no d'Artagnan. Not that I'm counting. WhiteSheepCBD posted Rainjoy Musketeers fic recs, linking to the epub and PDF she did of the short fics and "Wolf Moon." I reblogged it with a link to the first chapter of the Affinity!Verse, "Camberwell Rain," because of course I had that bookmarked.
I also posted fic recs of Musketeers fics by other writers, all modern-day AUs. WhiteSheepCBD has been trying to avoid going further down the Musketeers fic rabbit hole than Rainjoy's fics, but it didn't take too many months before I read other fic. I haven't seen much Court of Miracles fic, which I would like to see. I've seen a ton of Savoy fic. It's not often for a fandom that you see a ship including a character of color be a common ship, but Rainjoy is far from the only one to pair Aramis and Porthos. I like that.
J. called and gave me the saga of his various illnesses over the past three weeks, including the kidney stone saga. He was stuck in a traffic jam on 95.
I listened to the Lima Heights Adjacent podcast on Friday's Glee episode. I hadn't seen the horror movies the Sue doll was based on, but Mom and I still thought it was creepy. There was a good balance of topics and characters in the discussion of the episode, I thought.
I talked with A. for a while. I chatted with WhiteSheepCBD.
