Slightly later: I went to the grocery store.
S.M. had e-mailed me. I gave her a call back and left a message. She is having a very busy summer. I thought things would quiet down for her now that she is no longer garden club president.
I e-mailed A. to see if we were still on for chatting tonight.
It wasn't as hot out as it's been. I planted the coral bells. The spicebush had come back from being eaten, so I planted that. It's kind of close to the porch, but it's tiny now. I'll see if it survives. Now I've planted all the plants I got in the spring and early summer. I looked at the white jasmine. It's still got lots of buds, but I don't see a flower open.
I e-mailed TallCR and Dennis to catch up with them.
Dad and I watched the fourth episode of "The Musketeers." Now Dad's all caught up again.
I corresponded a bit with whitesheepcbd. She lives a few hours from me. We talked about getting together around the time of the book signings for the second Land of Stories book, but I hadn't heard back from her when I was going to be in the area. I told her I'd started reading the Affinity!Verse because I'd enjoyed Rainjoy's Glee fics, and was willing to give a new fandom a chance. The show so far is nothing like the book. The Affinity!Verse has modern-day teenagers with elemental powers instead of the characters being Musketeers. When Rainjoy's Athos packed up his things to leave his house and come to the villa, he threw in a novel he'd been planning to read. My speculation is that it's The Three Musketeers. I have a lot of other speculations now that I've seen the fourth episode of "The Musketeers" and previews for the fifth that have Flea and Charon.
In the Affinity!Verse, Marsac is an air affinity and Anne de Brueil (sp?), Milady de Winter, is an earth affinity. Milady de Winter works for the Cardinal de Richelieu in both the book and the TV show. Flea is a water affinity. It would be interesting if Charon were an affinity. I will see what happens on the show. In the preview, it looked like he was in charge of the Court of Miracles. Rainjoy will get back to Flea and Charon and south London, I'm sure.
Rainjoy is doing a "Five Times Aramis Escaped from Richelieu, and One Time He Didn't." Aramis has jumped out a window, hidden in an attic, and had Porthos join him in refusing to cooperate with Richelieu. Athos also showed that he wasn't going to cooperate with Richelieu, but I don't think that was one of the five times. Aramis has at least one more time that he escapes, and then Richelieu gets him. But Aramis has Athos and Porthos also hating Richelieu, so hopefully they'll find a way to help him. I expect we'll get suspense and/or angst. I'm sure there will be a lot of angst coming up.
Later: I talked to A. for about an hour and a half. He told me about Green Bay Pride and his new second job.
