Tuesday so far

I went to bed around 1:00 a.m.  I must have drifted off a bit, but I woke at 2:00 a.m.  Close to 3:00 a.m., I went downstairs for a belated midnight snack.  After that, I fell asleep after a while.  My alarm went off at 10:00 a.m., but I went back to sleep until 10:45 a.m.  I got up briefly, then lay back down at 11:00 a.m. for a few minutes.  I finally officially got up around 11:10 a.m.  I should have gotten up at 10:00 a.m., but I definitely hadn't gotten eight hours of sleep at that point.

I looked up the BBC's "The Musketeers" website.  They had some interesting behind the scenes clips.  The actors had a "boot camp" for horseback riding, fencing, and other Musketeer skills.  The actor who plays d'Artagnan showed how some of the special effects were done.

Dad and I went out in the early afternoon.  We got gasoline for my car and went to the library.  I looked up books about Europe's royal families.  A Main Line library seems to have a number of books about European royalty.  I ordered them through interlibrary loan.

I read some of a book that had modern (as of 2000) royal families and brief backgrounds on the families.

Rainjoy did a short Musketeers fic.  I didn't expect her to update again so soon.  She said in reply to a comment of mine that going by the timing of the Affinity!Verse, d'Artagnan would be about ten.  I hope for Aramis' sake, and for the other boys, too, that they seal their circle relatively soon.

I was happy with her Aramis and Porthos.  Athos was introduced after three hundred pages.  He's much like the Athos of the show, except modern and having elemental powers.  I'm wondering if d'Artagnan will be introduced at the very end of her fic, if sealing the circle will be the end.  I checked the page count, and it's just shy of four hundred pages.  So far there hasn't been as much action-adventure as what I've seen in the first four episodes of the show.  I hadn't been impatient before, but there's so much going on with Milady de Winter, Constance, Richelieu, Treville, King Louis and Queen Anne on the show, not to mention the Musketeers and d'Artagnan.

Rainjoy's Aramis, Porthos and Athos don't even know who's killing affinities.  My educated guess is that Richelieu and Milady de Winter will be involved.  I'm also guessing Marsac comes back. And sooner or later, the boys will likely have a confrontation with Charon.  Rainjoy's set up Charon being homophobic in the Affinity!Verse.

Whitesheepcbd asked where Rainjoy got the original names of the Affinity!Verse characters.  From gifs I've seen, a lot of that is revealed on the show.  Rainjoy's Aramis is Rene, Rainjoy's Athos is Olivier, Comte de la Fere, and Rainjoy's Porthos is Isaac.  Athos is the Comte de la Fere in the book and on the show.  I don't know where Isaac came from, but that might be in the next episode.

Later: I chatted with J.-PA for about an hour.
