Since I finished up that editing job, I don't have big plans for today. I'll very likely end up going to the grocery store. I'd like to watch another episode of Glee. "A Katy or a Gaga" is a cheerier episode.
Later: Mom and I went to an Entenmann's outlet and then to the grocery store.
After we got home, we watched "A Katy or a Gaga." I think Mom got spoiled by two Beatles episodes into thinking that the fifth season would have a lot more music that she'd like. Also she liked the songs from "The Quarterback." She is really not a Lady Gaga fan, though. She's been consistent about that since "Bad Romance" in "Theatricality." I think she's loathed all the Lady Gaga covers on Glee with the exception of the Broadway version of "Poker Face" that Shelby and Rachel did. I didn't fast-forward through "Marry the Night" and "Applause" because I love the performances, especially the vocals on "Marry the Night" and the boys' costumes in "Applause." Mom turned the volume down on both, and eventually muted "Applause." She liked the acoustic version of "Wide Awake," which is a Katy Perry song. I asked her if she wanted to watch "The End of Twerk," and she said she'd had enough.
I said that I'd liked Jake until he pressured Marley about having sex and cheated on her. Mom could understand that. Mom didn't like the McKinley side of the episode at all. There were aspects of the New York side of the episode she was interested in. She is a Rachel fan, and I think Kurt kind of grew on her. I said that it was important for future storylines to know that Jake had cheated and that Kurt had started a band.
I looked at the flowers in the front yard. 'Mme. Zoetmans' has a lot of buds. The portulaca looked really good. The patchouli had gotten dried out and was drooping. I watered that and the bay. The stock is just about gone by, and the pansies are going by. I'll have to put something where they are. Maybe more geraniums. (Later: The patchouli perked up after I watered it. I'm going to have to be sure to keep that watered.)
The sweet bay magnolia has been blooming. I picked a flower of that. I picked a bud of 'Mme. Zoetmans'. A couple of the sepals were all the way down, and a couple were partway down, so maybe it will open. Most of the roses in the front yard have a lot of buds. I sprayed some that had holes in the leaves with insecticidal soap, and sprayed a couple for blackspot.
K. texted me, and I called her. We caught up a bit.
Rainjoy updated the Three Musketeers Affinity!Verse. She left off the last chapter in an angsty spot, and this chapter seemed a bit more hopeful. It at least gave more information to work with. I'm enjoying the 'Verse, but I know things will get worse for the boys before they get better. At some point I'll probably read the actual book. The Affinity!Verse is already over three hundred pages, and Aramis and Porthos have only just met Athos. I think it will be some time yet before they get to D'Artagnon.
Later still: I watched "A Katy or a Gaga" again, then watched "The End of Twerk." I always appreciate the episodes that feature Blaine's "perky and delicious behind." "The End of Twerk" also featured the first time the audience saw Kurt shirtless, which there was much Tumblr joy about. I still think he looks seventeen, so I was not as wildly excited about that as some were. I think I commented at the time that he was in good shape. I doubt Mom will appreciate any of that. Maybe she'll be interested in Unique's storyline.
Later: I chatted with J.-PA for some time.
