Wednesday so far

I tried going to bed around 12:30 a.m., and that didn't work.  I tried again at 1:30 a.m.  I think I fell asleep around 2:00 or 2:30 a.m.  I got up at 10:00 a.m., when my alarm went off.  I wasn't too tired.

I got the free book from ARe.  It was a m/m, another werewolf one.  It looked like it was a pretty standard example of what's out there in m/m.  I think it was published by Liquid Silver.

I called S.M. and spoke to her briefly.  She was going out to lunch with P.M., but had e-mailed me.  She said she'd call back.

I made it to an appointment.

I explained to K.S. what an alpha/beta/omega dynamic was, and about alpha and omega anatomy.  She seemed very concerned that some people might be writing in a serious manner about this, or reading it seriously.  I said that I certainly didn't take it seriously, and I didn't think most writers or readers of it did, either.  She said she knew I didn't take it seriously.  I said that there was going to be a collection of the shapeshifting prairie dog stories.

I arranged to talk with A. later.

I worked on an editing job that's due Friday.  It's in good shape.

I caught up on Tumblr.  There's a lot on my dash about Kurt and Blaine and Klaine.  Letters from Titan said that Blaine was a hot mess.  Various people who were saying he had issues have been proven to have been right all along.  Blaine liked being someone Kurt looked up to, and liked being able to protect Kurt.  Kurt just wants them to be equals now.  Blaine is insecure.  Callie wrote before how performance/affection/approval are all tied up together for Blaine.

Kurt said that maybe gay men in a relationship had to be competitive, but that he'd rather be running the race with Blaine than running against him.  They are reinventing the wheel when it comes to gay relationships.  There are some gay couples guides out there.  I've read at least two.  I think Eric Marcus wrote one, but I'd have to look it up.

Interlude Press announced their authors.  They are MissBeizy, Doonarose, Alilactree, Zavocado, Dontbefanci, Stoney321, Wordplaying, Iconicklaine, Axe, Lurkdusoleil (Riah), Knittywriter, Doodlebrew, Chazzam, Anxioussquirrel, Judearaya, Girliesportsjunkie, and Borogroves.  I'm Internet "friends" with Riah.  I've communicated a bit with Axe.  I've read some of Riah's fic.  I've read things by Alilactree, Zavocado, Anxioussquirrel and Jude.  I have fic by Dontbefanci, Stoney321, Wordplaying, Chazzam and Girliesportsjunkie in my to-be-read files.

Later: S.M. called me back.  We talked about getting together tomorrow.  I have an appointment in the late morning, but it will take me to fairly near S.M.'s house, so we could go for lunch after that.  Then I'll help her pick out pictures she likes of the flower arrangements the guest presenter did last garden club meeting.  I'll save them onto a memory stick.  We also talked about going to the herb sale, which is May 8th.

I looked at Rainjoy's LiveJournal, and she'd written a bit more in the Three Musketeers Affinity!Verse.  She is putting up chapters every few days.

I showed Mom pictures of Darren Criss with his hair natural.  She liked that better than Blaine's gelled-down hair.  We'd watched "Prom-a-Saurus" last night, and she thought Blaine's Afro was kind of cute.  I finally saw pictures of the whole Criss family a few weeks ago.  I'd seen pictures of Chuck Criss before.  Mom thought, like I do, that DC really takes after his mother.  I said that they had the same smile, and much the same facial features.

Later: I talked to A. for an hour and a half.
