I sat under the sunlight-effect lamp and looked at more of the fic writers' recommended fics of theirs, from marauder-in-warblerland's post. I marked some of them to read later. I looked around on AO3 and saw that Adiwriting had put up more fics from the Hearing!Verse.
I put up a link on my Tumblr post about LGBT YA fiction to the LGBT YA Goodreads group's list of YA books with LGBT content that they'd like to see in a school library. Kaje Harper recommended that list when I said I was trying to put together recommendations on Tumblr. Some of that thread was authors recommending their own books, which seems to be an unavoidable aspect of Goodreads. Others were readers recommending books they felt were appropriate.
Later: I went to J.-PA's grocery store to pick up a few things, but she was on her lunch break, so I didn't see her. Cadbury Creme Eggs were on sale.
I looked at Rainjoy's LJ to see if there was anything new. The last thing I saw she'd posted was at the end of December. I saw that the next time she'd posted was at the end of February. It's now close to the end of March, so apparently I hadn't looked at her LJ in a month or so. She's now writing fic about the Three Musketeers. I may have read the book. I've seen a movie or two. Rainjoy's is apparently an AU from a British TV show. I am seeing how I feel about this. It's Rainjoy, so I'll probably start reading Three Musketeers fic. My wish is to get more in the Big Moon Rising (Puppy 'Verse) or Mage 'Verse. I've read quite a few of her Glee fics, but I am sure there are many I haven't gotten to. Also, I wonder if Rainjoy has seen the Avengers movie.
Later still: I read Rainjoy's Three Musketeers fic. She's started one she's calling Affinity!Verse, which is a modern fantasy AU with teenaged protagonists. I don't know if affinities are something from Avatar or whatever -- I've never seen the movie. Mercedes Lackey has characters in her fairytale retelling books who have affinities for earth, air, fire and water. This seems to be something of the same idea. I like it. It's Rainjoy, and it's modern fantasy. Rainjoy says that apparently she's just writing "batshit AU" stuff anymore. I'm happy for her that she's into a new TV show.
I thought about printing out what there is so far of this new fic, but two chapters in, it's already 58 pages. I think it's going to be a long fic.
A couple of days later: Rainjoy said the affinities weren't based on any particular book or movie, but came from pagan and astrological things she had learned. I guess it was much more broad a mythological basis than I thought, with Rainjoy then writing her own version of affinities.
I did end up printing out what she'd written so far.
