I left a message for P. I called S.M. and spoke to her for a bit. She'd enjoyed the Flower Show.
P. called back, and we talked for a bit. I told her I'd finished The Blacker the Berry. Maybe I'll get a copy for her for her birthday. P. said it sounded like Emma Lou had had a hard life. I said she had. I said it interested me to see that things I hear about today were going on in the 1920s. P. said that there would always be prejudice.
