Sunday so far

I felt exhausted by 9:00 p.m. Saturday night.  I lay down around 12:30 a.m.  I got up briefly at 1:00 a.m., then tried again to get to sleep.  I think I fell asleep around 2:00 a.m.  I had set my alarm, and should have gotten up at 10:00 a.m., but went back to sleep until 11:00 a.m.  I hope this doesn't really goof up my sleep schedule.

I sat under the sunlight-effect lamp and started working on an editing job.  I hope to have it done by tomorrow.

Mom and I watched "Journey to Regionals."  That was the last episode of the first season.  We're supposed to get 4 to 8 inches of snow tomorrow morning, and I don't think Mom is going to go to drive to work in that.  She said she'd watch the second season, so maybe we can watch an episode or two while we're snowed in.

F Yeah Glee Podcast has a podcast on "Race and Ethnicity on Glee" starting at 3:00 p.m.  Black-john-lennon, formerly known as Killerqueen-80, is the host.  Brian, Jasmine and Cleopatre are the guests.  I think I've heard of Brian before.  I hadn't heard of the other two, but I looked at their Tumblrs.  One said in her introduction blurb that she was a PoC (person of color).  I'm glad they'll have at least two people of color on a race and ethnicity podcast.

Later: Here's my post about the podcast:

I was so glad that the podcast folks actually knew what they were talking about.  They were all people of color.  I had posted before that I didn't see a need to have a white person on a podcast about race.  I am sure there are people who will cry "white tears" about not being represented, but there's no reason to have sympathy for them.

Mercedes had said, "My weave!" when she thought she was going to get slushied.  I think the story was that it was taken from an actual reaction from Amber Riley.  Mercedes later sang about weaves in "Hell to the No" in "Original Song."  She wore a "No Weave" T-shirt in "Born This Way."  Kay (black-john-lennon), Cleo and Jasmine had a discussion about weaves, natural hair, hair treatments, and messages and pressures they got about their hair.  I think it was Kay who mentioned "good hair."  I knew there were opinions about "good hair" and "bad hair," and that it can be a very hurtful topic.  Amber Riley explained when "Born This Way" aired that she was proud of her natural hair, and sent a picture of herself with her hair natural.

I had asked P. about weaves some time ago.  She saw that I seriously wanted to know, and explained about them to me.  She said you use a hair needle to sew hair into your own hair.  P. said that lots of Black women celebrities had weaves.  She said that she had a ponytail, and explained how that was attached.  I posted about another time when we took a trip to see Ms. F. when Ms. F asked me if I knew how to grease hair.  I did not.  P. greased her mother's hair.  I said to P. and Ms. F. that my hair was very different, that I didn't put anything in it, that I just washed it and brushed it out.  I said it was very fine and thin, and let them feel the texture.

I was glad that Mercedes got some love.  I expected her to get love from Kay.  There was discussion of Jake, which I appreciated, too.  I knew there would be a discussion of Blaine.  I would like to see Lea Salonga cast as Blaine's mother.  Many fans would.  I took notes as the podcast aired, and ended up with seven pages of notes.  I'll listen to that podcast again.

I worked on that editing job some more.  I should be able to finish it by tomorrow afternoon.
