J.-PA e-mailed me to let me know the Lovesong 'Verse had been updated. I read that chapter.
Mom wants to go to Wal-Mart, in part to look at phones there, but to get other items, too, I'm sure.
I am sitting under the sunlight-effect lamp. Dr. A. said I could be on the computer while using the light. I do want to finish The Blacker the Berry: A Novel of Negro Life by Wallace Thurman at some point. I read about half of that under the light. The parts I've read so far are from the point of view of Emma Lou, a dark-skinned Black girl who gets prejudice for her skin tone from her light-skinned relatives and from other light-skinned Black people she encounters. Wallace Thurman himself was dark-skinned, and was very aware of colorism in the Black community.
Later: Mom and I went out and did a few errands. We went to Wal-Mart, where I got sweatshirts. I'm pretty well set for sweatpants and sweatshirts for a while. I didn't even remember that we were supposed to look at phones, because Mom was in a hurry to get to the pharmacy before that closed and get Risaquad, which I think is some kind of digestive tract thing. I did end up at the grocery store this weekend after all. The fun things I got were watermelon and red velvet whoopie pies.
Mom got a raincheck for stuff she wanted. There were some good sales at the grocery store. Mom said that the customer service person had said that the store was so busy earlier that they'd run out of carts.
It was a pretty productive shopping trip for me.
I forgot that the "Friendships of Glee" podcast was on, but it had already been uploaded when I checked in the late afternoon. I listened to that. Ryan (firesnaps) was the host. The other participants were Jan (Januarium), Izbit, and Mi (bikechanderson). They covered a number of friendships. I would have liked a more overt Blaine and Mike friendship in season three. They had a background friendship. The podcast folks mentioned Unique and Marley a few times. I thought that Marley's friendship with Unique and their interactions was one of the most interesting things about Marley. I was more interested in Millie Rose, Jake, and Unique than in Marley. Firesnaps adored the Hummelberry friendship, as was predictable, and podcast participants (I think including Firesnaps) said that Kurt and Rachel were much alike, which I disagree with. They have some similarities, which I think are more aspects they display to the world than similarities deep down, but Kurt is much more mature and a kinder person.
The podcast folks talked about the Blaine and Sam friendship, which I like. They said Sam has more dramatic reactions now, and that Blaine is showing that he's quirky. Blaine and Sam get to be weird together, and enjoy geeky things. I feel like we've been seeing more of the real Blaine, and that he is weird. He has a variety of interests. Blaine is basically a nice person, and likes to be helpful, but there's much more to him than that.
The podcast participants talked about old friendships, like between Finn and Puck. They made themselves sad. They talked about the Unholy Trinity, and Santana and Quinn's interactions. They didn't talk about how some of the romances have strong friendship elements, too, like Brittany and Santana, and Kurt and Blaine. But they did cover a lot.
Later still: I talked with A. for over an hour.
