Friday so far

I had a hard time getting to sleep.  I tried to get to sleep at 12:30 a.m., and couldn't sleep.  I got up around 1:30 a.m. or so.  I tried again to go to sleep at 2:30 a.m.  I don't know when I finally fell asleep, but I got up at noon.  I guess I got eight hours of sleep.

I made it to a podiatrist's appointment.  My feet were good.  I see Dr. B. again in two months.

P. called while I was driving there, but I couldn't talk on the phone while I was driving.  I called her back when I was done.  She wanted me to drive her to Chester.  It would have taken me quite a while for me to get back from the Main Line, get P., and drive to Chester.  I told her maybe tomorrow.  She said she'd find another way to get there, that maybe her dad could take her.

Longwood Gardens is open until 10:00 p.m. New Year's Eve.  They suggested that afterwards, people go see a giant illuminated mushroom being dropped in Kennett Square.  I couldn't make this up.  Kennett Square is known as "the mushroom capital of the world."  You can smell the mushroom farms soon after you drive past the town itself, heading south.  I may ask A.C. if she wants to go to that.  She wanted to go to Philadelphia for New Year's Eve.  I thought that was more ambitious than I felt.

Slightly later: I talked with A.C., but forgot to tell her about the giant mushroom.  I'll e-mail her.

Mom said K. was home.
