Jax lent me Handle With Care by Josephine Myles. She had posted a couple of weeks ago on Goodreads that it was free for the day, but I missed the post.
P. called at 2:30 p.m. I told her I could meet her at the library in an hour. She had brought her iPad with her, and we experimented with trying to download music to my iPhone. This did not work. P. asked the librarian, who said P. would need to sign in on a computer, and then download her music and do a family share that way. We didn't do that.
We stopped briefly at the grocery store, then went to the house for a bit. When we hooked up the iPad to the computer, it thought that I'd gotten a new iPad. I didn't want to risk losing what P. had on the iPad. We never did manage the family share.
We went to the dollar store. I stopped along the way to get gasoline. I got a 2014 calendar. Like the 2013 one, it has pictures of horses on it. They had various others, which included a puppies one that was cute. I think Mom said she got a flowers or butterflies one at another dollar store. P. got, among other things, travel-sized empty bottles to put lotion and shampoo, etc. in for her trip to Las Vegas with Z.
I got out of the house and got what I wanted to get today, and P. got much of what she wanted. It was nice to see her.
Later: I read Handle With Care. I enjoyed it well enough. If I had bought it, I wouldn't have been sorry I bought it. Jax got a basic Kindle a while ago, the $80 one. She'd had a Sony 500 e-reader, which I think was the earliest one sold in the U.S., and it eventually wore out after several years. With both Kindle and Nook books, you can loan them out once. I like that feature.
