I saw a post from T. that she is taking a writing hiatus. I am sad that the fic I had the prompt for may not happen, but she needs to do what's best for her.
Mom and I went out to get spring water. I got a naan, mango drink, and canned rasmalai and gulab jamun at the Indian grocery. I can't bring anything that smells like cilantro, curry or fenugreek into the house anymore. I need to find another place to eat. We went to a Goodwill, and I looked at CDs, but didn't see anything in particular that I really wanted. On one CD, the case said "Pop Hits Collection" and the CD was Al Jolson songs.
We stopped at another grocery store. Mom took a long time thinking over what to buy. I had brought my Nook in, and read a bit of "All the Other Ghosts" while I waited for her to make up her mind about things. It really did help to pass the time.
I took pictures of the tiger lilies. The mystery pink rose had a flower open, and a bud showing color. It really is quite remontant.
I'm not sure what I'll do for the rest of the day, though I'll ask A. if he wants to chat tonight.
Later: I re-read the music part of Harlem Speaks: A Living History of the Harlem Renaissance. That's "Part III, The Jazz Age: Music and Musicians of the Harlem Renaissance."
I texted A. and asked if he wanted to chat, but he said he's working very late. I'll probably still be up, but we'll see.
