Dad showed up, and we went to the pool. Dad had brought his Kobo, but it gave him the message that his library was empty. I didn't have much in the way of non-romance on my Nook, and the couple of mysteries I had were later ones in the Mahu series. I had Roberta Gellis' The English Heiress, which I hadn't read. I'd read several series of her medieval books. Apparently The English Heiress is set in the late 1700s. I got him started with that. I think I have the rest of the series at home. He said that book had the action taking place during the French Revolution. I think I have it without DRM as well. I believe I got it directly from the publisher as well as getting it as a Nook book and Kindle book. It was free for two weeks, and then some of the others in the series were on sale cheap.
(Later: I found that I had a book about a World War I soldier who became a teacher on the Nook. He would have liked that much better, I'm sure.)
Dad took off around 5:30 p.m. I was surprised he'd leave during rush hour. J., K., Mom and I went to a steakhouse which had chicken wings cheap during happy hour. I got Chesapeake ones, which had a lot of Old Bay seasoning. J. got sweet and spicy ones. I tried them, and they were pretty spicy.
I don't plan on doing much else tonight except for talking with A. later.
I re-read a bit of Dance With Me by Heidi Cullinan. I really enjoyed that book.
Much later: I talked to A. for an hour and a half. I asked him about crystal radios, and got an explanation of what they looked like and how they worked and how to put one together. We skipped up through radio and television history. We talked about other things, too.
