I went to the grocery store.
I had called K. earlier in the day and left her a message. I wanted her to talk me out of getting another e-reader. She didn't get back to me. I went to Barnes & Noble and got a Nook with Glowlight. Not that I needed another e-reader. Once I got it connected to the Wi-Fi it was pretty easy to use. I had 65 Nook books that I'd gotten for free during various promos. They transferred over when I registered the Nook. I sent an e-mail asking about the Fictionwise books that were supposed to be converted to Nook books, since I figured that that was a timely question for me. I'd gotten 85 books from Fictionwise. I'll see what they say.
The B&N sales associate who helped me said that the store had Nook classes on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. I may go to some. I was able to sideload books in e-pub format from my documents on the computer to the Nook. I was able to download some from Samhain and Amber Quill Press directly to the Nook. I discovered that it wasn't just the Sonys, that e-pub books from Samhain come in small print. Interestingly, the ones from AQP showed up on the Nook in very large type. The Nook offers 8 or so different font sizes, so I experimented.
I was pleased that the Nook came with a wall outlet adapter. I'll continue to experiment with it. I told TallCR I'd ask him for advice on it. Considering it's not something I needed, it looks like I'll get some use out of it.
I went out into the yard and took pictures of the daffodils. The winter honeysuckle is in full bloom. I want to get the rest of the pansies planted, and the pinks and geraniums.
Later: I experimented with the Glowlight of the Nook, and read Tumble Turn. Ben kept taking cold showers if he got turned on. I thought most other modern romances with male characters would have had them take care of it. Even most other English protagonists in m/m romances I've read are far less shy than Ben was. Admittedly Orlando in the "Lessons in..."/Cambridge Fellows Mysteries was severely repressed, but that was the Edwardian era. Maybe I'm just jaded.
