Friday -- somewhat later

I decided to go to Winterthur.  It's an easy drive down there from southeastern Pennsylvania.  Winterthur is not much past the Delaware border.  I got there around 11:30 a.m.  I went on the tram tour.  The March Bank was covered with chionodoxa and squill.  There were a number of patches of daffodils along the way that will probably be blooming in a couple of weeks.  I went on the house tour.  I don't know enough about American antiques to feel like I really appreciated it as someone who did would.  The galleries were mostly closed while an exhibit that starts the 16th was being set up.

I looked at the museum shop.  They had a number of plants for sale, and I was tempted to get a couple of pots of pinks, but refrained.

I thought about going to Longwood Gardens, too, while I was in the neighborhood, but my feet were pretty tired by then.

When I got home I took pictures of the sweet violets, mahonia, winter honeysuckle and miniature daffodils.
