Monday so far

I went to bed around 12:30 a.m. I don't remember
it taking too long for me to go to sleep. I woke at 7:00 a.m. and remember
looking at the clock at 7:30 as I tried to go back to sleep. Eventually I dozed
and slept until 10:30. I was slow to get going after that. Mom and I went to a
couple of grocery stores in the afternoon, as I felt I should get out of the
house. I got the corn, okra and tomatoes in a can combination at one of the
grocery stores.

I read God Believes in Love: Straight Talk About Gay Marriage by Bishop
Gene Robinson. I was not surprised by the topics put forward. Mom volunteers as
the church librarian, and had gotten the book for the church library. It's an
Episcopal church. She brought the book home for me to read yesterday. I am
nominally an Episcopalian. By this I mean that I was baptized and confirmed an
Episcopalian. My parents go to church every Sunday. I go on Christmas Eve and
Easter, and sometimes on Mother's Day. In my own beliefs as they play out I
suppose that I'm close to being a secular humanist. I am pretty familiar with
the marriage equality debate. The Episcopal Church is part of the Anglican
Communion. If I am getting it right, it split off during the American
Revolution or shortly thereafter.

I'll recommend the book to Uly, though I doubt it will have any surprises for
him. He may have already read it.
