Saturday

We went on an extensive shopping trip today.  Mom and Dad and I went to get spring water, then to the dollar store, the library, the post office, Staples, and the grocery store.  I had finished Simple Jess, the second in the Marrying Stone books, last night.  I looked up the series on Goodreads.  The first is called Marrying Stone.  I looked on Amazon, and the Kindle book was close to $6.00.  I'm not sure why it was more expensive than the second in the series.  As I noted in a previous post, Simple Jess was $1.00 as a Kindle book.  I looked in the catalog for the county library system, and Marrying Stone was at the local library, so I got it there.

I got Sharpies and blank CDs at Staples.  While the dollar store had Sharpies, it only had them in red and blue, and I wanted black.  A set of five -- the smallest amount they had at Staples -- was about the same price each as the dollar store ones.  I gave a Sharpie to Mom and put one on my computer desk.  That's where I burn CDs.  Staples had Sharpies specially for CDs, but they were $10-something instead of $4-something.  The all-around use ones work well enough for me.  You just have to be careful not to smear them.

After lunch, I finally sat under the sunlight-effect lamp for a while and read a bit of Marrying Stone.  The first two books in the series are set at the beginning of the twentieth century.  There's a third set in the modern day.  It wasn't in the library system, not even as "in processing."  I might get that as an e-book, or through interlibrary loan.
