It was pretty nice out for December. I did a couple of errands, and then went to Longwood Gardens. I had thought my membership was good into December, but it had expired November 29th. I renewed my membership. It was members' night there. People who weren't members and had come in before 5:00 p.m. could stay, but 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. was designated for members.
The Christmas display had gone up at Thanksgiving. I was One of Those People Who Take Pictures, except it was hard to get pictures without having other people in the picture. It wasn't terribly crowded, but it was busy enough. I went to the Peirce-du Pont house first, and took pictures of the Christmas tree in the conservatory there. I went to get dinner at 4:30 p.m., because I knew the restaurant would be very busy soon after that. When I finished eating and left, the line to get in was out the door.
After my early dinner, I headed to the East Conservatory and did the Christmas route in those conservatories. I left around 5:30, taking pictures of the trees with lights outside. It still wasn't that cold. The traffic on Route 1 was much lighter than I expected at that hour. There were a lot of people coming into Longwood Gardens, and people parked in the far lots. I couldn't see if there were people parked out in the grass on the other side. When I got there, I was able to park in Row E, which I thought was really good, considering. Row A is parking for people with disabilities. Sometimes in January or February I can park in Row B or C. But Row E is relatively close.
