I spoke to S. for a bit. We'd been talking about either going to lunch or dinner together. Obviously I'd missed lunch. We rescheduled a possible dinner to another day when it wasn't pouring out.
The new "Shipping News" column is up at AfterElton. It had the Box Scene clip as an example of what fans asked for and got through Twitter. I think that putting the clip up was much more orchestrated by the Powers That Be of the show than by fans, though there was a lot of fan participation. Some TV show Powers That Be seem to be more up on social media than others.
There are other modern-day TV show writers and producers who seem aware that some fans see slashiness in their shows. Some of those writers tease slash fans, but I don't think anything more is going to happen than teasing. I can believe that shows that are presently being created could have male bisexual characters, and I'm sure there will be more shows with gay characters. I also think that some shows currently being made will just have slash potential teasing, if they acknowledge anything at all.
There's getting to be a little discussion about the history of fan fiction in the comments. (http://www.afterelton.com/column/shipping-news-10-15-2012) This week's column author is nineteen years old, but some commenters are talking about fan 'zines.
I am packing shorts, some T-shirts, and summer nightgowns away for the winter. I'm putting them in the storage container that had my comforter. This led to doing laundry, as I didn't want to put dirty clothes in with clean clothes.
I have an editing job I want to work on tonight. Hopefully I'll get a second one to work on. I want to finish up two by Thursday night.
Later: A.C. called. I had a couple lines on where she could stay from suggestions by S. S.M. e-mailed me back with some suggestions, too.
I filled the container that had my comforter in it with shorts, T-shirts and summer nightgowns. They're all clean, though they'll be musty-smelling by May or June, I'm sure. I put them in a plastic bag in the container. The next project is getting my flannel nightgowns out from storage.
