Today: I woke at 11:20 a.m., unusually early for me. I thought about calling J. and telling him I could drive down to Baltimore today, if he wanted me to. I ended up not doing a whole lot. I ventured outside. I was dressed for summer, and it felt more like fall. One flower on 'Duchesse de Brabant' is going by, but another one is newly open. 'Marchioness of Londonderry' looks like it will bloom in the next few days. I checked on the little white rose near the back of what used to be the herb garden. It's 'Prairie Star', a Buck rose. Hopefully that bud will open soon. The sambac jasmine is in bud, too. The colchicum has several flowers up. Tomorrow I'll take more pictures of them.
I watched "Britney 2.0" again. I still think there were things going on about race. It seems like Brittany has some kind of intellectual or developmental disability, but she functions according to her own rules. Brittany knew what Santana did for her. The audience got an indication (math test) that Becky Jackson is still at McKinley. I don't know why she's not still head cheerleader, but I'm glad to know she's around. Sue compares Brittany to Becky intellectually, and says that Becky is smarter. Unique seems to have a pretty good feel for what's going on at McKinley. She'll need that.
I will probably finish up an editing job tonight. It's not due until October, but I want to get it done. I read through it some days ago, and did the usual line editing things I do. I just want to read through it one more time before I turn it in.
I texted S., and then wandered out of the room. He called back right away, but I didn't remember to check my phone until a few hours later. We'll chat at some point.
Tomorrow I need to get Mom cake and a card for her birthday. At least I already have presents for her. I'm sure the grocery store will have cakes that say "Happy Birthday."
