relatively early Friday

I fell asleep at 8:00 p.m. Thursday night, then woke at 12:30 a.m. Friday and was up several hours.  I dozed a couple of hours and then got up at 8:30 a.m.  I'm pretty sure I know why I fell asleep at 8:00 p.m., and I'm not too happy about it.  I just fell asleep in my clothes, and didn't do my "bedtime routine" until 12:30 a.m.  When I woke at 8:30 a.m., I was feeling pretty bad.  I figured that maybe if I stayed up, I'd get a decent night's sleep tonight.  I made myself French vanilla coffee, and put plenty of cream in it, and that perked me up and made me feel somewhat better.

The clivia is turning yellow.  I may put it back inside.  The yellow jasmine's leaves are turning brown.  The other plants seem to be adapting to being outside.  The begonias are still blooming.

RM (Racheline Maltese) put a fic rec up.  I'm sure it's just a general rec, and not because I asked for recs, but I still appreciate it.

I am determined to read through Tiger Cub's book today.  I'd really wanted to do it last night, but we saw how that turned out.  I'm pretty sure he didn't change anything much since the last time I saw it, but I want to do the third proofreading run.  It's easy reading and I really enjoy the book.  It can be read as a relatively straightforward "Gay for You," though with much better reasons than most -- paranormal usually helps that -- or as a deconstruction of "Gay for You."  I may be thinking of it more as a deconstruction because I know Tiger Cub was tackling a trope that he takes issue with and bending it to something he could take.

Tiger Cub is bisexual, like me, and has a male partner.  He'll probably get credit for more "authenticity" because he's a man writing m/m romance.  Tiger Cub was quite pleased when I told him that the book absolutely qualified as m/m romance.  He figured I would know.  I really want for more men to learn how to write good m/m romance.  Among other things, it's a matter of making the book emotionally satisfying.  Tiger Cub did a wonderful job with that.

Tiger Cub will be at San Francisco Pride this weekend, but I want to have the book ready for him on Monday.

Later (mid-afternoon): I went out after all.  We went on a couple of errands, including to the grocery store.  I got sushi and some fruit from the salad bar.

I heard about the "Box Scene Project" belatedly.  It was a group of people who raised money to win the Glee Christmas episode ("Extraordinary Merry Christmas") script at auction.  That's how the Kurt and Blaine ring box scene dialogue got out there.  The group is continuing with other scripts.  They won the script for the Valentine's Day episode, "Heart," and are trying to win the "Dance With Somebody" script.  That's the Whitney Houston tribute episode that featured some Klaine scenes.

Later still: I did a quick run-through on Tiger Cub's book.  I'll go more slowly through it tomorrow and Sunday.  I enjoy the humor in it.  I did the first read-through of a shorter editing job.
