It isn't too bad out today. It's supposed to be 98 degrees F here tomorrow. Today I went out and took pictures of the flowers. Dad planted the raised bed the other day. He used the lantana, some of my geraniums, and one of the jasmines. It's possibly a sambac jasmine. I'd have to look at the old pot it was in. (Later: It is a sambac jasmine, a double one.) It had a flower last summer, when it was outside. The geraniums are blooming, and they're red ones, so they contrast with the yellow lantana. If the plants around the raised bed really are cornflowers, that will add blue, which will at least be a nice contrast. We'll see. They might just be weeds.
I took pictures of what's left of my roses. There's one fresh flower on 'Konigen von Danemark'. There have been Japanese beetles on 'Ispahan' and 'Maiden's Blush' these past couple of days. Usually the Old Garden Roses are done blooming before the Japanese beetles come out, but the beetles must have been early too this year.
I took pictures of the lantana in the raised bed, too.
I texted back and forth some with S. I wanted to see how he was doing today.
I saw quotes from the Gold Derby interview with Chris Colfer in various places on Tumblr, with reactions. AfterElton had the Skype interview up. I commented there about Klaine PDAs. While I do believe there's been pressure, and quite possibly censorship, from the network, I also think that Kurt and Blaine would have plenty of reasons to be wary about PDAs. They're in a hostile environment, and that's all too real in the U.S. I know I've been considerably more cautious about same-sex PDAs as opposed to opposite-sex PDAs. I think that the Glee writers, directors and actors are doing what they can. Censorship or not, there would still be a different level of the amount of PDAs between the same-sex couples and the opposite-sex couples.
Later: I'd made a couple of trips outside to see the flowers, but eventually made it out to the grocery store. I'll probably just stay inside tomorrow, as it's supposed to be so hot out. I have plenty to do.
M.H. called. I caught her up on my life and the lives of my near and dear. She told me what she'd been up to in the last several years. They have five cats now. I remember when they had two. I was at her sons' Bar Mitzvahs, and now they're in college. We made plans to meet up for lunch in a few weeks.
Biyuti's put up a few posts in the last couple of days, and I read them with interest. I get so much out of some of Biyuti's posts.
