At a point in the afternoon when it was clear, I went out and took pictures of the roses. There are several flowers of 'Mme. Isaac Pereire' that are close to opening. "Duchesse de Brabant' has a couple of flowers open and four or five others ready to open. The sweet briar rose has a few flowers open. They only have a faint rose scent, but the leaves are fragrant from spring through fall. The hardy geranium in in full bloom. 'Mme. Zoetmans' has half a dozen flowers open. 'Ispahan' has a number of buds that have their sepals down.
Slightly later: I looked for free book promos. Dear Author had one listed from Thursday as free on Amazon, Lavender Vows by Colleen Gleason. It's the first in the "Medieval Herb Garden Series." I know more about medieval herb gardens than the average person, I'm pretty sure. I'll have to see if it's accurate that way. I got the free for two weeks books from Ellora's Cave.
