and reading blogs

I read The Naughty Bits to keep me up on the latest controversies.  I saw what's presumably the most recent.  I was already well aware there were transmen who were gay.  I go with the common categories, but I know some of those categories overlap.  I recommend reading the story "Butterflies and Myths."  I think it's by Greg Wharton.

I also recommend Just Add Hormones: An Insider's Guide to the Transsexual Experience by Matt Kailey.  Matt points out that his sexual orientation didn't change.  He went from being thought of as a straight woman to being identified as a gay man.

I agree that reviewers are reviewing for the readers, and not for the authors.  And there are gay cis-men on even the most politically correct of websites who will say that they're looking to date other cis-men, let alone on less polite sites.

I tend to be pretty essentialist in my thinking, and the phrase "gender performance" throws me, but it's probably something I should learn more about.

So those are some thoughts and observations.
