Friday and for the weekend

Mom and I ran a few errands, including dropping books off at the library.  I did some editing last night, and more today.  Tomorrow is the memorial service for Grandma S.  It's going to be held at the retirement community where she lived for a couple of decades, in northwest New Jersey.  Aunt P.S. has invited us all to come to her house afterwards for dinner.

Later: We went out to look for black flats for me.  I haven't been able to wear heels since I broke my ankle.  If I'd kept up with the physical therapy exercises at home once I was done going to physical therapy, the ankle would be stronger.  I was never much good at walking in heels anyway.  The fasciitis really put paid to me wearing other than comfortable shoes.  We didn't find any that fit on this expedition.  Oddly, in sneakers 6 1/2 was too small, and 7 fit.  In dress shoes, 7 was falling off my feet and even 6 1/2 were a little too big.  Well, that's why you have to try them on.

We made the obligatory stop at the grocery store, too.  I got cream.  If I have Kahlua and cream, I have to drink it fairly early in the day, so the caffeine doesn't keep me up.  Sometimes I'll have a little in the early afternoon.  I use just enough Kahlua to flavor the cream, so it's a very small amount of liquor.

The day had started out fairly cold, but it got warmer as the afternoon went on.  After we got home, I went out and took a few pictures of flowers.  The novelty of rubbing the leaves of the sweet briar to get the scent of that has not worn off yet.
