I think I dozed off around 6-something. Dad, in his way, called to me at 12:50, asking if I had a 1:00 p.m. appointment. It was at 2:00, I said.
The appointment was with with the podiatrist. I got there in good time. I had the same therapy they've been giving me. The doctor said that I'd get the orthotics next week, and have therapy that week, and then they'd discharge me. It's been intense. My foot is much better than it was to start with. He asked about taping it, and I said it had felt better when it was taped. They taped it again.
I went to the grocery store, and picked up a roll of cloth tape to secure a plastic bag around my foot for when I bathe. I looked for waterproof tape, but didn't see it there. That ran out last time I was using plastic bags on my foot. I had to use the gentle-on-the-skin perforated tape, which I prefer to save for when I actually need something gentle on the skin.
Though I was dazed with tiredness early in the afternoon, I perked up some later on. I had picked up salad and cut up fruit at the grocery store, and made an early dinner of that. I told Mom she could have some salad as well. Dad was talking about eating the leftover pizza.
All in all, the day has been okay. I did what I wanted to do. I made it to an appointment and got myself dinner.
We're supposed to be off to our belated holiday celebration with Grandma S. and several of the relatives on Dad's side of the family. Mom said she wanted to leave the house by 9:15 a.m. They will leave without me if I don't get moving, so I suppose I should go to bed as early as possible. We'll see how that goes.
I'm glad I finished the books. Apparently with Wicked, the play turns out differently from the book. The books put a very different spin on things. I'm glad I read them for the cultural reference.
