Last night I read Rougaroux Social Club: Bayou Dreams, which TeddyPig had reviewed some time ago.  I didn't read the review again until after I'd read the book.  I can see where he says parts would have been better if they'd deliberately been played for humor, but I found some scenes amusing enough as they were.

As the Pig says, it's kind of a cute premise to have a werewolf be a straight man and a gay wolf.  You would think that at thirty-five Scott would have realized this, however.  His mate, Ted, was gay to start with.  Various hijinks went on with Ted's private investigation business and the wolf pack Scott ran.  Some plot twists made more sense than others.  It wasn't the best werewolf book I've ever read -- which for me is Without Reservations -- but it certainly wasn't the worst.  I'd read more in the series, though I'd hope both protagonists in another book were gay all along.

I don't know.  It's not one I regret getting, because parts of it were pretty funny and a good deal of it was well-written.  I liked how Ted's talent was revealed.  Despite Scott claiming he was straight, the sex scenes and descriptions of the protagonists' lust for each other were hot.  I don't know if I'll say it's a recommend from me or not on AE.  I think I'll just describe it.  Some readers there are not fans of "Gay for You" stories, so they'll make up their minds based on that.  Some are fans of "Gay for You" stories, so they'll be interested.
