meta about reading

I looked at The Naughty Bits -- one of the blogs I regularly read -- and saw TeddyPig's link to Erastes' post: http://erastes.dreamwidth.org/664503.html  As I noted to TeddyPig, I found the Lambda Literary Awards change back very interesting.  So it was two years that eligible authors had to be GLBT themselves, and now it's back to books being judged on content.  Although I don't think I said much except on The Naughty Bits and probably here, I was in favor of books just being judged on content, and not the sexual identity of the author.

Someone commented that the change was made in the first place to shut out Alex Beecroft.  I suppose that would have been for False Colors.  I don't know whether that's true.  It's certainly a fine book.  I think it could have been award-winning.

It certainly makes many more books eligible in the romance category.
