minor league but fun

Dad had a couple of tickets to a Reading Phillies game for a veterans' thing.  Mom didn't want to try to go, with her knee still not great, so I went with Dad.  It really was pretty fun.  The Reading Phillies started out getting a couple of runs.  Then the other team -- Altoona -- got three runs on a home run, then another three later.  Reading got a run in a later inning.  They got down to the bottom of the ninth inning with two out, and first tied the game, then won it.  Way to keep the fans in suspense most of the game.

Dad wanted to leave before the fireworks display started.  I didn't want to, but didn't want to get stuck in a ton of traffic trying to get out of the parking lots and area around the stadium, either.  We walked to the parking lot across the street.  The fireworks started, and I told Dad he should go get the car, and I'd watch from where I was.  I saw part of the display, at least, then watched out the car window as we left.  We really didn't hit that much traffic on the way out.
