further randomness

I think I stole Kris' phrase.  I agreed to sign up for the trial two-week ad-free subscription to this.  It's so awesome not to be halted for a minute by an ad before you can read or write on here.  You can go back and edit your comments if you misspell something, too.  I'll probably forget to unsubscribe at the end of the two weeks, and start getting charged.  I'm considering whether it would be worth it, though.  It's a shame that the ads are so annoying that I'm willing to pay to not have them.  When you can't even do anything until the ad finishes, and especially if it's one with sound and no volume control so you can mute it, it's really dreadful.

I don't know why I'm feeling empty now.  I got some things done that I'd been wanting to do for some time, and it's not like I wasn't interacting with people.  I spoke briefly to my brother, who was whispering because K. was asleep (at 8 p.m.!)  I couldn't deal with the combination of him whispering and my stomach being off.  It wasn't conducive to a decent conversation, in my opinion.  I'd spoken to Mom earlier, and she seemed to be all right.  She saw the physical therapist Thursday and the nurse Friday, and seems to be doing her exercises.  I told her I'd go with her Monday to get her staples out.

I put in a couple of buddylist requests on AfterElton, with the book geeks.  I don't know if I wasn't shy about it because I have talked books with them.  I suppose it's as good a reason as any, that we have a common interest we love to talk about.  I've interacted some with my buddies there.  I've written some e-mails and answered a few.  I was at the computer a lot, but I saw real live people, too.  I don't know why I feel lonely.

Added: My mood got better later.  I read Deflowered: My Life in Pansy Division by Jon Ginoli, and that was quite entertaining.  I finally learned what "alpine skiing" was.  He described the origins of a number of the songs.  I wasn't into Pansy Division yet when Ginoli came to Giovanni's Room for a reading and book signing, but maybe I should have gone.  That's when I got curious about the band, though, hearing that he'd written a book.
