Paul Neyron rose 2

Sunday

Back-dating by an hour or so...I thought I had done a Sunday entry, but I guess I just thought about it.

A little after noon, I went out and planted grape hyacinths and/or 'Cheerfulness' or 'Yellow Cheerfulness' daffodils, and 'Tete-a-Tete' daffodils.  I wanted to get some of the very short, small yellow daffodils near the front of the "crocus garden" that still mainly has irises in it.  There were a couple of problems with trying to get daffodils or grape hyacinths in front of or near to the tall purple irises.  First, the irises were growing right up to the edge of the driveway, and again slightly into the driveway.  There was no free space there.  Second, when I tried to dig near the irises, I dug up iris borers, which was gross.  I squished the couple that I dug up.  I think it's time for a dose of systemic insecticide for that area.

I moved to the back yard, and planted some 'Tete-a-Tete' daffodils near the patch of grape hyacinth already there, near the back door.  I spread out and planted the grape hyacinths and/or 'Cheerfulness' daffodils, and the 'Tete-a-Tete' daffodils.
