Paul Neyron rose 2

Monday

I stayed up way too late reading on Sunday night into this morning.

I'm not sure what I'll get done today.

Later: Mom and I made a trip to the library in the afternoon.

After we got back home, I identified an iris blooming for the first time for me as 'Gay Geisha.'  I got that in the summer of 2019.  'Blue Staccato' should be blooming soon.  That will also be blooming for the first time for me, but I've kept track of what that one was since the summer of 2018.  That was the only one I knew for sure until 'Indian Chief' bloomed in 2020.  That has several flowers open now.  Various other irises, mostly in pots, are in bud.  I'm eager to see them.  Possibly-'Matinata' has a couple of flowers open, too.  'Gay Geisha' is really very pretty, but 'Matinata' is, also.

I did a label for 'Gay Geisha,' and a couple of labels saying "hosta," so I know where those are.  I picked a bud that was showing color from 'Mme. Isaac Pereire' and three buds from 'Teasing Georgia.'  I figure I'm in a race against time with the deer for whether I get to enjoy what the flowers look like and smell like, and the deer eating the buds and tender new leaves.
