Paul Neyron rose 2

Saturday

I should be going to bed soon.

Later: I didn't stay up much later than that.  I woke at 4:00 a.m. with a coughing fit, but I'll try to go back to sleep fairly soon.

I got up after having gotten eight hours of sleep or so, though it was broken up.  In the early afternoon, I worked out amid the flowers (mostly flowers-to-be, at this point) on the hill, clipping the grass around the tips of the hyacinth, tulip and daffodil leaves that are coming up, and trying to distinguish between leaves of grass and crocus leaves.  This last wasn't always successful, but I found several clumps of crocus leaves before I clipped them, so I figured that was good.  The first 'Blue Pearl' crocus is in bloom.  There is a 'Vanguard' crocus open, and a couple of clumps of 'Mammoth Yellow' and 'Cream Beauty' crocuses open, plus the tommy crocuses and the pink tommy crocuses.  I'm looking forward to the daffodils blooming, and the early tulips.
