Paul Neyron rose 2

Monday -- Memorial Day

I didn't sleep much at night, and got up for the day at noon.

I may try to plant some of my flowering and/or fragrant plants this afternoon.  Mom really wants me to cut Dad's hair, also.

Later: I planted some plants in the afternoon.  I planted three lilacs, a wintergreen plant, and an 'Orange Glory' butterfly weed plant.  The three lilac cultivars were 'President Grevy,' 'Madame Lemoine' and 'Beauty of Moscow.'  I may have gotten the little paper labels mixed up.  I guess we'll see in a few years when they bloom, if they aren't eaten.  I put the plastic T-shaped labels with the name I thought they were next to them.

The lilacs are in the former rose garden, behind the other lilacs.  The wintergreen is to the left of the herb garden, by the northwest corner of the house, under the shade of a volunteer sweet shrub.  The butterfly weed is to the right of the back door as you go out, where there was black plastic over the ground.  It actually wasn't too bad digging in that area.
