Paul Neyron rose 2

I need to go to bed soon.

I didn't stay up super-late.  I got up for the day around 10:30 a.m.

I've been talking on and off with B.G. and A.J. about meeting them at Longwood Gardens.  I don't think the logistics of it all are working too well.

Later: Amazingly enough, B.G., A.J. and their cousin M.D. managed to get to Longwood Gardens around the same time that I did, and we met in the Terrace Restaurant.  I'd eaten in the Cafe part.  Apparently the food in the 1906 Restaurant is more expensive.

After a late lunch/early dinner, we saw the digital lights of the Main Fountain Garden, and then went into the Main Conservatory.  We looked around there, and in the East Conservatory, and the Exhibition Hall with the giant ribbon.  We also went into the Music Room (?) and saw the tree and setting with the confectionary theme.  I thought that would be something of an invitation for a small child to slip under the ropes and grab some candy.  The docent said that it wasn't all real, but I don't think that would necessarily make a difference in the scenario that came to my mind.  That didn't happen while we were there, anyway.

We went to an organ singalong, then looked at the trees outside.  M.D. wanted to look at treehouses.  I wanted to at least poke my head into the Peirce-du Pont House and see the tree in the central conservatory there.  We listened to carolers by the Peirce-du Pont House, and took a look at the tree in there.  Then we went on a search for treehouses that took us right by the meadow.  I protested the idea of going as far as walking through the meadow, but the entrances into it were blocked off at night anyway.

By the second treehouse, B.G.'s ankle was hurting where she'd had that avulsion injury following a fall last year.  I had a cramp in my calf and had had enough walking.  A.J. was pretty tired, too.  We found the Peirce-du Pont house again, and rested on benches near the carolers for a while, and then headed back to the cars.  B.G. had gotten a good parking space, and drove me back to my car, which was in one of the last spaces in the first lot as you come into the parking lot area.  We headed back towards our respective homes.  I stopped at the usual grocery store that's local to me to pick up some things before I came home.

We were at Longwood Gardens from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m., and were exhausted.  We got to see and do a lot, though, so that was cool.
