Paul Neyron rose 2

Wednesday

I stayed up late, and then got up at 10:30 a.m., which wasn't bad, considering.  I need to go to bed earlier.

I saw Dr. P., the ENT.  Things were fairly good, except that I need to drink more water.

The flowers outside are very beautiful.  The lilacs are blooming and the irises that I've had for a few years are in bud.  The tulips are blooming on the hill.  I do seem to have gotten some 'Mrs. R.O. Backhouse' daffodils after all.  The pink lily of the valley is in bud.  The daffodils in the former vegetable garden are in bud.  I think they'd be 'Rose of May' daffodils.  I think the lemon day lily may still be alive.

Later: I finally saw "Captain Marvel."  A large part of it was set in the 1990s, and brought me right back.  One of the characters was wearing a NIN (Nine Inch Nails) T-shirt.  I believe I had one right about that time.  J. was super into Pearl Jam and then NIN and then Marilyn Manson.  I called him to tell him about the T-shirt and that the movie was mostly set in the 1990s.  He was in his late teens and early twenties then.  He said that the 1990s were a strange time for him.

There was foreshadowing about the Monica Rambeau version of Captain Marvel, too, and Nova.  There were a number of callbacks to the comic books.  I was mostly reading the X-Men then, and that had things from Rogue's viewpoint, when she took Carol Danvers' memories.  The movie credits included thanks to a number of people who were writing Marvel comics in the 1970s, 1980s and presumably 1990s, including Chris Claremont.

I got a ticket to see "Avengers: Endgame" on Monday afternoon.
