Paul Neyron rose 2

Sunday so far

I turned off the computer around 11:15 p.m.  I went to bed before 1:00 a.m. and woke up before 9:30 a.m., so that was pretty good.

I had told M. last night that I was reading some high-quality fic and that some of the writers were easily good enough to be published.  I said that it was hard to get a hold of some of them, but that some wrote very good smut.  She said I could talk to those writers that I could contact.  I told her I was reading a lot of Alpha/Beta/Omega fic, and that I'd really liked the story that Flash (Stephanie Burke) wrote last year, and the new story of Willa Okati's.  Willa's story wasn't as elegantly written as some of her books, but I guess it's hard to write elegantly when you're writing A/B/O.  It was very good for what it was.

I'm thinking about going to Five Below and seeing if they still have Christmas stuff on sale cheap, but I'm sure it will be super-busy in that shopping center.  I may wait until Monday.  I expect I'll get a couple of new editing jobs soon.

I had arranged to talk with A. tonight.  I'll see if that's still good with his schedule.  Pred wrote back again.

A few hours later: I did not go out.  I sat under my full-spectrum light from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., though.  I chatted with Riah.  I am impatient to see whether any of the people I contacted -- or attempted to contact -- write back.

Later still: A. was still working on his car at the time we'd usually talk, so we may talk later in the evening, or on his usual day off during the week, Wednesday.  It's been pretty quiet for me lately except for J. and K. coming up for the holiday and the bits of shopping I got in.  Mostly I've been reading a lot of fic.  There will be a new chapter of "War, Children" in a few hours, and a new chapter of "Kiss the Cook" tonight.  I am looking forward to both.

A little later than that: I read the new chapter of "Kiss the Cook."  I think of it as the fic that makes me hungry, because there's all this yummy-sounding food described in each chapter.  This chapter was kugel.  I got a recipe for that from my mom's stepmother, H.  It's just a question of actually getting around to making it.  I keep telling Mom that I'd really like to go down to Florida in February, partly to see H. and Mom's half-sister E., and partly to enjoy warm weather in February.  The original fiction story that made me hungry was Sarah Black's "Cookies."  Each kind of cookie was lovingly described, and there were a bunch of them.

I reviewed Willa's story.  I said it was one of those tropes where either you're okay with it or it's not your thing.  I can't imagine mpreg (male pregnancy) being a thing that the guys on the Goodreads Backlot Gay Books forum would be into.
