Paul Neyron rose 2

Saturday so far

I went to bed between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m.  I had stayed up late messaging with J.-PA, but I don't think it took me long to get to sleep.  Unusually for me, I got up when my alarm went off.

The church my parents attend was having a book and plant sale.  I didn't get any books, which was a change.  I got a basket that had a petunia and snapdragons in it for $2.00.  I expected it to be much more expensive.  By noon, when I got there, plants were two for one.  I got a couple of coral bells (Heuchera), a tiny lacecap hydrangea and a spicebush along with the basket.  The total was $9.00, which I thought was pretty good.  Last year I got a spicebush and didn't plant it.  This year I want to plant the spicebush in a timely manner.

After I got home, I planted the petunia and snapdragons in the rectangular pot that some of the stock had been in.  The stock had gone by.  I planted scented geraniums where the rest of the stock had been, in another rectangular pot.  The 'lemona' scented geranium is blooming.  I planted the patchouli and bay.

The Tradescantia 'Miss Kate' had more flowers.  'Mme. Zoetmans' has a lot of flowers open.  'Comtesse de Murinais' and 'Botzaris' are blooming.  Soon the rest of the roses should be blooming.

Later: I wrote to Biyuti about fan fiction and original fiction and rambled about other things.  I had told her about Brent's project before.  I told her that Eagledancer had a story up, and so did Ally Blue.  There are other authors with stories.  I think Uly has talked about Eden Winter.  I said I was trying to figure out how the authors of Interlude Press went with their Tumblr names, and which fics went with their novels.  Some have given the information.

MissBeizy is using the pen name Melissa Graves.  Bleeding Heart is based off "What I Hide Reminds Me," which I've read.  I read the Bleeding Heart excerpt, and was reminded that fan fiction writers need to learn the skill of physical descriptions of the characters.  Not!Blaine sees himself in a mirror and describes himself, which has been done a lot.  It's still from his viewpoint when he describes not!Kurt.  It's not bad, but I would have had comments about needing the insertion of the descriptions to be very smooth and natural.

Lilah Suzanne is the pen name for alilactree.  One of the Interlude Press book covers has a boxer, so my guess is that they're using "Pivot and Slip."  Lurkdusoleil is using her Riah name, and said she would tell her fans about her book as soon as possible.  It would have to be one of her longer fics.  Axe is using the pen name Carrie Pack, so she's being punny.  Unless her last name really is Pack... I've never read any of Axe's fic, just heard her on the Lima Heights Adjacent podcasts.

Kate Paddington is Doonarose.  My guess is that Platonic is based on the fic "Platonic."  A.J. DeWall is iconicklaine.  Forever Man is based off "Someone Like Me," which I've read.

Later still: Mom and I watched "Puppet Master."  She really wasn't into the puppets.  She wasn't scared of them like Firesnaps, but it really wasn't her thing at all.  I told her that my first reaction to "Previously Unaired Christmas" was "I'll be sitting in the corner, not dealing."  I said it was an alternate universe.  I'll see how she reacts to that one.
