Paul Neyron rose 2

so far Saturday

There hasn't been a lot of Saturday for me yet.  I tried to go to sleep around 3:00 a.m., and lay there for a while.  I woke at 12:30 p.m., so I guess I got eight hours of sleep.

I paid bills.  Mom and I went out shopping.  I figured I should get out of the house.  We went to Target, where I finally used the $5 gift card I'd had for some time.  We went to the grocery store, where I got strawberries and cut-up pieces of watermelon, among other things.

I have a short story editing job that's due Thursday.  I'll see if I can pick another up for this weekend.  Hopefully I'll get some beta reading to do.  I've spent a lot of time brainstorming on the Harlem Renaissance fic, and will do more of that.  I'm curious to see how that story actually goes.  We want it to be Mercedes-centric, but Mercedes really wasn't developed as much as many of the other characters were.  So it's developing Mercedes as a person as well as a singer who's as successful as possible in that place and time.

Later: I asked J. to ask K.B. or his friend I. about jazz and blues songs from 1920 to 1925.  K.B. and I. perform in a "phat blues" band that J. was a roadie for for some time.  We'll see if I get a response.  J. is not a fan of the show, and I said that I knew he'd think it was a weird request.  But who knows, maybe I could get some replies to get me started.
